I love giving edible gifts.

There is something about packaging something I made with my own  hands and gifting it to a loved one that brings me such joy and satisfaction. I highly recommend it.

wrapped herb infused butter

Lately, I’ve been really into butter. Specifically infusing butters with herbs to give as host gifts at dinner parties. It’s actually very easy to do, but feels so decadent when slathered on fresh steamed vegetables or warm dinner rolls.

Ingredients:

- Butter

- Herbs (fresh or dried, though I prefer fresh!)

fresh herbs

How To:

Place the butter in a bowl at room temperature, and allow to soften. If you are using fresh herbs, finely chop them down and add to the softened butter. The more herbs, the more intense the flavor. The butter can be used right away, but the flavors will intensify if refrigerated for 24 hours.

Mixing in herbs for infused butter

Here, I’ve made three infused butters: sage, rosemary, and thyme. But you could use any herb like basil, garlic, lemon peel, or lavender flowers.
