I am just so jazzed to present this post to you today.

This summer, I’m teaming up with the talented Jamie Oliveira to bring you a series of short videos here on The Dabblist. We begin with today’s post on something I’m pretty passionate about and have made a major part of my life – juicing.

By far, my favorite day of the week is Saturday. Soon after we awake, my husband and I walk through our neighborhood to the local farmer’s market. We have our favorite vendors we go to every time. There’s the strictly Avocado and Dates couple sitting behind their little table, the Mushroom man who always wears a San Jose Sharks hockey shirt, we wave hello to the shy gentleman who provided the wild Protea flowers for our wedding nearly 2 years ago, and always visit the young guys selling Fair Trade coffee from the back of their bicycle cart.  I usually pick up a bag’s worth of farm fresh goodness and we head back to our place for the morning’s final ritual –  busting out the juicer and making some delicious, nutrient-packed juice.


This juice is a combination of ingredients I really enjoy. The freshness of the parsley combined with the strawberries and lemon make this juice’s flavor reminiscent of a strawberry lemonade. I hope you enjoy!

 A Morning Ritual Green Juice

1 bunch romaine lettuce

1 lemon

1 inch ginger

1 apple

1 cucumber

5 leaves kale

5 sprigs parsley

5 strawberries

    Becca, this is just so beautifully done! Makes me want to go home and make some right now!
    I’ve gathered up your various juice recipes and am going to get many of the ingredients…I want to juice every morning – also, since I need my protein in the a.m. on my 3 weight lifting days, I’m going to try putting my probiotic whey protein powder in the juice and see how it tastes…. I am so proud of you! xoxox

    Hi Becca,
    I am excited to have discovered your blog from a friend of your Mom’s :-). I got a Vitamix not long ago and have been making green drinks. Do you think there is a big difference if you juice it or Vitamix it? Do you have any Vitamix recipes? Thanks!

    Hi Connie! I’m so honored to stopped by, thank you!

    I get this question a lot. Juicing is a bit different from making smoothies. The biggest difference is smoothies contain the fibrous bits of the fruits and veggies you’re blending up, while juice is like a shot of nutrients straight to the cells. Both are great for your body, it just depends what you’re in the mood for.

    You can actually make juice with a vitamix! Simply blend everything together, and strain out the solid bits. BAM, you’ve got juice 🙂
